This year marks the 66th running of the event, which was the brainchild of Holland ‘Holly’ Birkett and is still the UK’s largest annual motor race. He devised the concept that still remains in force today; where any car can enter and teams run the different vehicles in a relay format. Each car and team is suitably handicapped, meaning that Birkett teams are competing for both overall and handicap victory.
Grove & Dean offer insurance services for all as aspects of motorsport, from trackdays to storage/transportation and full race cover. What’s more, being run by motorsport enthusiasts to serve motorsport enthusiasts, you can be sure of a team that understand the customer.
The 2016 entry cost is £1500 per team for the six-hour race, where entrants should have between three and six cars (closed wheel only), and between three and six drivers to be eligible.
