Type R Trophy

Overview

The UK’s biggest single-make Honda championship; using EP3-generation Civic Type-R models with minimal modifications to create a cost-effective and hugely competitive formula. Tyres from MRF are limited per season, success ballast levels the field and sealed engines have power caps to prevent undue spending.

Engine & Transmission

Type R Trophy uses the standard UK-spec Honda K20 engine without unnecessary tuning. Modifications are limited to just induction, exhaust and a sump baffle. Standard gearbox with a maintenance-free MFactory helical limited-slip differential. All cars are power tested via sponsor Tegiwa or on 750MC’s own mobile rolling road, and the engine plus ECU are sealed to prevent undue development and associated costs.

Suspension & Brakes

All cars use affordable but high quality YellowSpeed Racing premium coilovers. Only brake pad upgrades are permitted, with ABS removed and a bias lever.

Tyres & Build

Affordable MRF control tyres are limited in quantity per season to prevent undue competitor spending. Cars mut use a Safety Devices bolt-in roll cage with limitations on shell preparation to reduce car build labour.

Rounds

Type R Trophy typically features 14 rounds split across six race weekends to maximise track time and value for money.

Costs

Club racing membership is just £95 for 12 months, season registration is £145, and entry fees are typically between £370 and £420 depending on the circuit and double or triple-header. The concise list of controlled build parts mean that eligible cars can be built for as little as £12,000.
