For sale ; Championship winning Locost Race engine.
This is a Randell engine which was new when I bought the car at the end of 2017.
The engine was my one and only race engine for 2018 when I won the championship, winning 9 races and podium at every weekend, with absolutely no issues or rebuilds. 100% reliable engine.
The engine was stripped and inspected by Bob at the end of the season and all found 100% legal.
It was then rebuilt and ran for the first 2 rounds of 2019 when it became apparent it wasn’t as powerful as it was, so was rebuilt again (at a very high cost!) and run in during the Anglesey 2019 weekend.
I then went on to use the engine for ;
- Cadwell Park ; 1x 3rd position & 1 DNF due to suspension issue
- Brands Hatch ; 2x 2nd position
- Oulton Park ; 2nd position & 1 DNS due to gearbox issue
So the engine has only done 3 weekends (1 full weekend and 2 half weekends due to DNFs) since it’s rebuild as is back to front running form.
As many know I am a little ocd about things, I change oil and filter after every single race meeting and being sponsored by Opie oils, I use the highest end oils on the market.
I had a brand new engine built during 2019 as I felt exposed having no spare, which is in my car now, so this is a spare...but now I’d like to free up some cash to use on other racing projects.
The engine will come with a locost race sump fitted, oil pump, water pump, rocker cover with breather outlet, dipstick and tube, flywheel assembly. No Inlet, exhaust, distributor, t-stat housing or alternator mounts are included.
Never overheated or over revved, removed from car fully running without issue, however no warranty offered or implied / this is a race engine after all.
