The 5th chassis that Arthur Mallock sold around 1959, the last of the Mk2 cars and supplied with the alternative arrangement of external rear radius rods like the Mk3 although the mounting for quarter elliptic rear springs like the other Mk2 cars remained. Supplied to a well-known Cheshire motorsport professional, the car was built as a replica of Arthur’s FJ and used for hill climbs and sprints. The subsequent history is cloudy, the car being resurrected by Lawrence Sufryn in the 1990s and then campaigned in the FJ Lubrani Trophy on a regular basis. I bought the car from Lawrence in late 2000.
Since then, the Mallock has regularly competed in hill climbs and sprints throughout the UK and Europe. Fitted with a dry sump 1098cc steel Ford 109E on twin 40s driving a Ford 3 rail gearbox with Quaife internals, performance is excellent and the car easy to maintain. The Mallock is housed in Bristol where it can be seen whilst, if required, I can deliver within the UK. There is a comprehensive information file that can accompany the car with its history and details of parts suppliers.
