The car has been an ongoing project for several years by a friend of the family, he has built this from scratch with the full Sylva Phoenix kit.
The Phoenix kit was a race version by Sylva also known as the mk4 Striker with some chassis changes to be better suited for track use, and the fiberglass bodywork was developed for race purposes with a curved and lowered front, and wheel covering outer edges. Used extensively in kitcar race series, the design was sold by Sylva to Stuart Taylor Motorsport who have since sold it on again.

Drivetrain:
Fiat 2L twin cam engine dyno’d at 145 BHP by the owner/builder
Engine was fully rebuilt when first installed in the car several years ago.
Twin Delorto carburettors
Cooling system has just had a full strip down and flush with new coolant.
Starts off the button every time, runs spot on.
4 speed Fiat gearbox
Fully independent rear suspension with Ford Sierra Cosworth differential.
Chassis:
Still in complete factory state, as it was with the kit from Sylva. Never been altered or repaired in any way.
Powder coated in yellow.
Brakes:
Ultra lightweight Honda fire blade brakes all round.
Inboard handbrake system on the rear with twin inboard discs
Suspension:
AVO Coil-overs all round, good condition.
Wheels & tyres:
Minilite 15” wheels all round. Powder coated grey, not a mark on them.
Yokohoma sport road legal tyres all round.
Bodywork:
Full lightweight fiberglass Phoenix body kit.
Finished in blue and yellow livery, looks stunning!
Great condition, no damage, cracks etc, very few chips or signs of wear and tear.
As it stands it’s just about ready for an IVA test, or to alternatively prepare it to race. This car was designed for racing in the 750 Motor Club sports specials series, it would fit into the B class with the following race modifications;
To Race the car would need at minimum the following:
Harnesses
Fire extinguisher
External safety key
Stickers
Tow eyes
Overall the car has some great bits on it and has been put together to a very good standard. Just needs someone to take it to the next stage.
