750 Motor Club Appoints Two New Members to the Board of Directors
Mon 14 Nov 2022
750 Motor Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Taylor and Jonathan Leeson to the Board of Directors, following a recruitment process towards the end of the 2022 racing season that aimed to bring new experience in IT and digital marketing to the team.
An avid automotive and motorsport fan who started his competitive journey in circuit racing two seasons ago in the 116 Trophy endurance series, Gary has proven experience delivering e-commerce and digital retail strategy across the UK, as well as working with global brands such as Nestlé, Purina and Admiral Insurance. An advertising technology specialist with a strong commercial awareness and in-depth knowledge of marketing and media strategy, Gary also brings significant experience in the online ticketing and events sectors; attributes that offer valuable insight for the Club’s commercial activities.
An executive-level leader with 30 years’ experience in a multi-culture and multinational environment, Jonathan Leeson spent his primary career as part of a global company with over 7000 IT associates. He adds to the 750MC Board’s diverse knowledge via experience in digital strategy, technology, sourcing, business transformation and change portfolios. Since 2021 Jonathan has built a portfolio of non-executive and advisory roles, as well as continuing to be an active mentor and assessor of IT professionals around the world via the Chartered Institute for IT. Jonathan also comes from an active sports and motorsport background, and the 2022 season saw him join the CALM All Porsche Trophy with 750MC.
The new recruits will join the existing Board of Directors, who work alongside 750MC staff in developing future strategy for the Club as well as focusing on specific projects; all in a voluntary capacity.
As Gary and Jonathan join, the Board would like to offer deepest thanks to two directors who duly stand down from their positions in 2022, following three decades combined of loyal voluntary service. Colin Chapman served on the 750MC Board for more than 11 years; a passionate and dedicated member who oversaw the Club’s progression and development through a period of notable growth and commercial success whilst also regularly being seen around the paddock - rarely missing a meeting in his beloved Sports 1000 Championship.
Also offering up a remarkable stint of 750MC volunteer dedication, engineer Alan Harding served on the Board for over 18 years, during which time the Club has expanded and progressed both on and off track into the modern-day home it continues to be in 2022 for the amateur racer. A former competitor with an acute awareness of the club racing landscape, Alan continues to run specialist preparer AHS Motorsport, most notably in the Club’s Formula Vee Championship.
