As the Home of Affordable Motorsport, 750 Motor Club is delighted to announce the Swift Sport Challenge; a new entry-level formula for 2025 that brings with it the next generation of technical and sporting cost control, as part of the 85-year old club’s continual drive to maintain low-cost circuit racing in an ever more challenging economic climate.
Innovation & Cost Control
At the core of the Swift Sport Challenge are various new concepts that aim to reduce the ‘cost to be competitive,’ with regulations set to include details such as incentivising road-going cars, disincentivising spending on pre-race test days and removing the ability to use costly performance-enhancing data logging equipment.
Other concepts set to feature include a variation in the length of the sprint races involved, plus morning sessions that roll an inclusive untimed practice directly into a shorter timed qualifying to allow testing and novice familiarisation without funding unnecessary downtime in-between sessions.
As with various other 750MC formulae, drivers will have limited quantity control tyres and fixed geometry limits, alongside standard engines that will be sealed after power checks, and ballasted as appropriate to discourage costly engine rebuilds.
Foundation Programme & Car Sharing
Open to new or experienced racers from the age of 16 upwards looking for the best possible value on track; further incentives will be available for novice drivers, whilst a ‘Team Challenge’ element will allow two drivers to share the cost of the car and alternate race weekends across the season.
The Swift Sport Challenge will also see the return of 750MC’s Foundation Programme – where a limited number of fully built cars will be sold with all first year entry and registration costs for a discounted fee. There will once again be the option of a ‘Novice Supplement’ for an ARDS test and full race kit package for Foundation Programme members alongside in-house support.
Technical
Based around the durable 2006-2010/11 (‘Mk1’) 1.6 VVT Suzuki Swift Sport, the concise control parts list includes a multi-point bolt-in roll cage and seat rail kit from Safety Devices designed specifically for the Swift Sport Challenge. Suspension is upgraded with a sealed Yellow Speed Racing kit from Tegiwa.com and the cars will run heavy-duty 15in Speedline wheels with a road-legal and quantity-controlled tyre.
All modifications are strictly limited to allow for a quick turnaround of cars, with an identical specification even for minor parts to ensure ease of support and spares at events. Driver choice will be limited to little more than steering wheel, seat and brake pads, whilst the remaining components will be available as part of a comprehensive DIY Build Kit. This will be supported by build guides and videos for the hands-on home mechanic, and a list of build partners around the UK will be available with a fixed-price rate card for each upgrade.
