Davanti Tyres, one of the UK’s leading mid-range tyre brands, is excited to announce a new technical partnership with 750 Motor Club’s new
Swift Sport Challenge. As of January 2025, the
Protoura Race tyre will become the control tyre of the championship, a new entry-level formula for 2025 that brings with it the next generation of technical and sporting cost control.
At the core of the
Swift Sport Challenge are various new concepts that aim to reduce the ‘cost to be competitive,’ with regulations set to include details such as incentivising road-going cars, disincentivising spending on pre-race test days, sharing car setup data and removing the ability to use costly performance-enhancing data logging equipment.
In line with the low-cost racing model, the affordable high-performance tyre,
Protoura Race has been selected as most suitable for both novice drivers and experienced racers alike, having been specifically designed to excel on the track. Its semi-slick tread design provides a combination of excellent dry grip and control in the wet without compromising speed, making it a successful formula to outpace the ordinary.
These will be barcoded with a maximum quantity controlled for each driver to prevent undue spending.
As well as strengthening brand visibility at race weekends with Davanti decals, drivers will benefit from free tyre giveaways via a random prize draw of at least one pair at all 2025 Swift Sport Challenge events, as part of a total of 20 to win.
To be supplied and fitted by
BMTR Motorsport, racers will be able to maximise car performance and minimise track times thanks to key design features including:
· Directional tread pattern to provide predictable control in all conditions.
· Enhanced carcass strength to provide direct feedback to the driver and control under high cornering forces experienced on race tracks.
· New compound with added grip for greater braking and acceleration power.
· Semi-slick tread design allows the tyre to be driven from the track to the road.
Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres Sales Director for UK & Ireland, said: “At Davanti Tyres, we’re really pleased to work with 750 Motor Club and to see our first ever track tyre become the control tyre for the Swift Sport Challenge, supporting a new entry-level formula that aims to reduce the cost to be competitive and generally be more accessible.
“Despite its competitive price, the Protoura Race’s testing credentials are ahead of the benchmarks set by similarly priced competitors, thanks to rigorous testing and development at the IDIADA facilities in Spain and iconic motor racing circuits such as Silverstone and Spain’s Calafat Circuit. It will be great to show the racers and fans the on-track performance of this tyre.”
Giles Groombridge, Managing Director at 750 Motor Club added: “As the Home of Affordable Motorsport, 750 Motor Club is delighted to announce the Swift Sport Challenge’s partnership with Davanti Tyres. The first year of a new championship is an exciting time and to have the support of Davanti from the start is invaluable. The brand and tyre aligns with our aim of the next level of low-cost circuit racing in an ever more challenging economic climate, whilst drivers can benefit from free giveaways and a control tyre that is suitable for experienced racers yet very forgiving and predictable for novice newcomers.”
The new partnership starts in January 2025, with the Protoura Race tyre starting a race as control tyre of the championship for the first time in April at Donington Park. To find out more information, visit
