Donington Park Trackday and Race Retro 2016
Wed 02 Mar 2016
As has now become tradition for the start of the new racing year, the 750 Motor Club's pre-season trackday and ARDs course took place in 2016 on Sunday 28th February at Donington Park, where a mixture of shakedowns, setups and new season race licences were at the forefront of many Club members' minds. With a healthy mix of cars taking to the track to represent all of the Club's formulae in suitably-paced sessions, the day was an ideal showcase for the variety of circuit racing series and championships now on offer.
As well as Ford-based representitives for the newly re-launched Royal Purple Hot Hatch and cars being put through their paces before the inaugural Cartek Club Enduro two-hour race on 19th March, a brace of Tegiwa M3 Cup cars were pitched together for the first time. Representing around half the expected initial field and with yet more cars well underway in build, the gathering of E46 M3s represented quite the show-stopper in terms of kerb appeal and track performance.

In addition to a Reliant-engined 750 Trophy racer, an older Class B AHS Challenger was flying the flag for Formula Vee, whilst a Crosslé 9S and Marcus Bicknell's attention-grabbing Mustang Mach 1 represented a small sample of what's to come from the thunderous 750 Classic Interseries in 2016.
