Help us to move the club forward
Wed 08 Apr 2009
Non-racing activities
Clearly the club has a rich heritage with its roots having grown out of activities around the Austin 7. As Ken Cooke is due to retire from the board, we are keen to replace him with someone who will be able to represent both the Austin 7 and other non-racing interests in the club. We have a number of ideas for events and other activities, we just need someone with the energy to help the board develop them.
Sporting Trials
We have a strong trials following within the club and sterling work has been done by Craig Bazley and his team. It would be good to have representation for this activity at board level to help the board increase its focus in this area and to help develop the trials activities further.
Membership
We have recognised that we are not really able to provide focus on growing membership and improving the services we provide to members. We are therefore looking for someone to head up this focus area which is vital for the long term health of the club.
Now the less attractive part...Directorships are all voluntary positions and, in addition to attending monthly board meetings at South Mymms, you should expect to give up 2-3 evenings per month on average. Having said that, if you are as passionate about the club as we are, the role can be very rewarding.
