Member Update - 2020 Racing Restart

Mon 01 Jun 2020

Motorsport UK have now published a detailed document explaining the proposed measures that would be put in place to enable racing to start in the safest manner possible in current circumstances, and many members have understandably asked how and when 750 Motor Club events will restart. The following document explains the necessary processes under a number of different scenarios that would be required in order to maintain adequate social distancing and safe working practices for competitors, volunteers and officials - the full document can be found here.

Once promoted events such as British Superbikes and BTCC confirm their revised calendars it is likely that 750MC will be able to finalise our new schedule in reasonably quick succession. The Club's current aim is for this schedule to include all of the remaining race meetings in our previously promoted 2020 calendar from July 18th/19th (Snetterton) onwards, with the potential of extending the season into November in order to replace some of the lost meetings. The only exception is that our planned Silverstone International meeting on 8th/9th August will no longer take place in order to accommodate the British Grand Prix at its Northamptonshire home; a date we aim to reschedule shortly.

Our plan would be to try and give each championship and series at least four events, however, in order to achieve this some compromises may have to be made. These could include combining suitable grids at some events and moving championships to predominately single day formats in order to reduce the volume of people in attendance at a venue on a given day.

As soon as we are in a position to share any further relevant information concerning the 2020 schedule we will do so as quickly as possible - via email to competitors, officials and volunteers, in addition to online and via social media channels. As ever, the 750MC team hopes that you, your families and friends remain healthy and well during these concerning times - please continue to stay safe and we hope to see you at a track in the near future.
