Michael Lindsay 1938 - 2022
Thu 05 Jan 2023
'Michael Lindsay, founder and long-time coordinator of the Alfa Romeo Championship, passed away peacefully on 28th December 2022 after a short illness. Our sincere condolences go to his wife Diana, his family, and to all his many friends and acquaintances in the world of motor racing and Alfa Romeo racing in particular.
Michael's contribution to Alfa racing throughout his lifetime was immeasurable. He was instrumental in the formation of the Alfa Romeo Championship in the early 1980s and he was involved with it in one form or another throughout the rest of his life. His knowledge of its history was all encompassing, as was his knowledge of motor racing in general. He was often welcomed into the commentary box by circuit commentators to contribute his detailed knowledge of Alfa racing and had numerous friends and acquaintances throughout the club racing scene. He was also a founder and previously the long-time manager of the Alfa Romeo Owners' Club.
The countless tributes that have been posted online in social media reflect the respect and esteem in which he was held by those who knew him.'
