Mittell Bikesports Car To Be Revealed at Autosport International 2019
Mon 07 Jan 2019
The fourth model from motorcycle-powered sports-racing car manufacturer Mittell Cars is set to be revealed on the 750 Motor Club stand at the 2019 Autosport International Show, from 10th-13th January (stand 2280, Hall 2).
The MC-41R is the first 'slicks and wings' offering from the Hampshire-based constructors, and is set to contest the full 2019 Bikesports Championship with Scott Mittell. The MC-41R will offer central-seat sports-racing car architecture, powered by a Suzuki GSXR1000 superbike engine. The new car is designed to go head-to-head with the Radical SR3 and PR6 models that currently dominate in Bikesports, yet powered by a more cost effective 1000cc engine compared to the 1300+cc Hayabusa engine of the Radicals.
The new Mittell model follows on from the father and son-run company’s successes in various 750MC formulae; starting with the duo’s self-developed Locost Championship win in 2011. The first car designed in-house was 2012’s MC-51 as raced in the RGB Sports 1000 Championship. This was replaced by the MC-52 in 2013 using lessons learnt from the MC-51, with the second offering securing its first pole positions in 2013 and first race wins in 2014, before winning the overall 2015 Championship.
The MC-53 was released in 2016 with various sales for new drivers in the RGB Sports 1000 Championship, and with older models still proving competitive, Mittell models now make up a significant percentage of the 2018 grid. MC-53 models have since finished 2nd in the championship in 2017 and 2018, taking 12 victories and numerous lap record along the way; most notably lapping Brand Hatch Indy circuit in 47.9 seconds and taking the company’s first 1-2-3 podium lockout at Silverstone last season.
The MC-41R will be available to view throughout the exhibition, from 9am on Thursday 10th January onwards., and the 750 Motor Club stand can be found at location 2280, in Hall 2.
